Bolotnikowo ( Russian Болотниково , German  Szameitkehmen , 1936-1938 Schameitkehmen , 1938-1945 Lindenhaus , lithuanian Žemaitkiemis ) is a place in the Russian Kaliningrad region and belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Krasnoznamensk in Krasnoznamensky District .

Geographical location

Bolotnikowo is located 18 kilometers southwest of the district capital Krasnosnamensk (Lasdehnen / Haselberg) and two kilometers northwest of the former district town of Dobrowolsk (PIllkallen / Schloßberg) on the municipal road 27K-390, which goes from Dobrowolsk via Saratovskoye (Groß Schorellen / Adlerswalde) to Tolstowo (Löben ) leads. There is no longer a train connection . Until 1945, Pillkallen (Schloßberg) was the next station on the Tilsit – Stallupönen (Ebenrode) line and the Pillkaller Kleinbahn network .

The then Sammeitken was founded in 1580. Before 1945 it was a village with four very large farms. From 1874 to 1945 Szameitkehmen belonged to the administrative district Uszpiaunen , which between 1936 and 1939 was known as the "District of Uschpiaunen" and from 1938 to 1946 as the "District of Kiesdorf (Ostpr.)". He was part of the Pillkallen district (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr.)") In the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . On September 17, 1936 the spelling of the place name was changed to "Schameitkehmen", on June 3, 1938 (officially confirmed on July 16, 1938) the village was renamed "Lindenhaus" in order to avoid a foreign sounding place name.

As a result of the war, the village was assigned to the entire northern East Prussia of the Soviet Union in 1945 . In 1947 it was given the Russian name "Bolotnikowo" and was assigned to the Dobrowolski selski Sowet in the Krasnosnamensk Raion at the same time . From 2008 to 2015 Bolotnikowo belonged to the rural municipality Dobrowolskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Krasnosnamensk.

Before 1945 Szameitkehmen resp. Lindenhaus parish with its mostly Protestant population in the parish of the church of Pillkallen and thus belonged to the parish of Pillkallen (Schloßberg) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Bolotnikowo is located in the extensive catchment area of ​​the newly created Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Babuschkino (Groß Degesen) within the provost of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
