Scheikino ( Russian Шейкино , German Bagdohnen , clearing from 1938 to 1945 , Lithuanian Bagdonai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Krasnoznamensk in Krasnoznamensky District .
Geographical location
Scheikino is 7 kilometers south of the Rajons capital Krasnosnamensk (Lasdehnen / Haselberg) and 12 kilometers north of the former district town Dobrowolsk (Pillkallen / Schloßberg) north of the Inster (Russian: Instrutsch). Regional road 27A-025 (ex R508 ) runs through the village . A rail link does not exist.
Place name
The German place name goes back to Schulzen Bocdan from Wersmeningken (1938 to 1946: Langenfelde, today Russian: Belkino), who is said to have received a piece of forest here in 1524.
history
The former Bagdohnen was an estate village before 1945, which in addition to the estate consisted of a few small farms. The village belonged to the older settlements in the Pillkallen district (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr.)") In the upper area of the Inster. It was first mentioned in a survey report in 1610.
Before 1723 Bagdohnen was a Lasdenisches Schulzenamt, came to the Löbegallen Domain Office in 1723 (1938 to 1945: Löbenau, today Russian: Tolstowo) and in 1818 to the Pillkallen district. Between 1874 and 1945 the village belonged to the district of Löbgallen in the Pillkallen district in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .
In 1938 the village was renamed “clearing” on June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - for political and ideological reasons. As a result of the war, the place was assigned to the Soviet Union together with northern East Prussia .
In 1947 Bagdohnen received the Russian name "Scheikino" and was assigned to the village Soviet Tolstowski selski Sowet in the Krasnosnamensk district . Later the place got into the Chlebnikowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2015, Sheikino belonged to the rural municipality of Wesnosvkoje selskoje posselenije and since then has been part of the Krasnosnamensk district.

With its majority Protestant population, Bagdohnen resp. Clearing before 1945 in the parish of the church Lasdehnen ( Haselberg , Russian: Krasnosnamensk) parish and thus belonged to the church district Pillkallen (Schloßberg) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
Today Scheikino is located in the extensive catchment area of the newly established Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Sabrodino (Lesgewangminnen , 1938 to 1946 Lesgewangen) . It is part of the Kaliningrad (Königsberg) provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
