Joseph Anthony Toal (born October 13, 1956 in Roy Bridge , Scotland ) is Bishop of Motherwell .

Life

Joseph Anthony Toal received on 10 July 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders . After activities in parish pastoral care and as a teacher at the boys' seminary in Blairs, he was called to the Royal Scots College in Salamanca in 1999 , where he was initially spiritual , later vice- rector and finally rector until 2008 .

On October 16, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Argyll and the Isles . The Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh , Keith Patrick Cardinal O'Brien , donated him episcopal ordination on December 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Bishop Emeritus of Argyll and the Isles, Ian Murray , and the Apostolic Nuncio to the United Kingdom , Archbishop Faustino Sainz Muñoz .

On April 29, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Motherwell . The inauguration took place on June 23 of the same year.
