Joseph Devellerez Thaung Shwe
Joseph Devellerez Thaung Shwe (born October 10, 1935 in Twante , Myanmar , † February 17, 2015 ) was Bishop of Pyay .
Life
Joseph Devellerez Thaung Shwe was ordained a priest on January 10, 1961 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Prome on October 2, 1975 . The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in China and Bangladesh , Edward Idris Cassidy , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Alphonse U Than Aung , auxiliary bishop in Mandalay , and Abraham Than , bishop of Kengtung . With the renaming of the diocese on October 8, 1991, he became Bishop of Pyay.
On December 3, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
