Bishop Joseph Kalathiparambil

Joseph Kalathiparambil (born October 6, 1952 in Vaduthala near Kochi ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Verapoly .

Life

Archbishop Joseph Kelanthara ordained him on March 13, 1978 as a priest of the Archdiocese of Verapoly .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Calicut on April 19, 2002 . The Archbishop of Verapoly, Daniel Acharuparambil OCD , donated him episcopal ordination on May 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Maxwell Valentine Noronha , Former Bishop of Calicut, India, and Varghese Chakkalakal , Bishop of Kannur .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 22, 2011 as secretary of the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Care for Migrants and People on the Move . In this capacity he was called on March 5, 2012 to be a member of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples .

On October 31, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Verapoly. The inauguration took place on December 18 of the same year.
