Joseph Krämer (athlete)

Joseph Krämer (born March 19, 1879 in Ueckendorf , today Gelsenkirchen ; † July 25, 1946 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) was a German athlete , tug of war and gymnast .

Krämer took part in athletics , tug of war and gymnastics competitions at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens . While he could not place himself in the high jump, he reached seventh place in the pentathlon and twelfth place in the sixth fight in gymnastics . In bar gymnastics, he finished fifth with the German team. Together with Wilhelm Born , Willy Dörr , Karl Kaltenbach , Wilhelm Ritzenhoff , Heinrich Rondi , Heinrich Schneidereit and Julius Wagner , he won the tug-of-war after a final victory against the host Greeks.

At the Olympic Games in 1908 , Krämer only competed in gymnastics, but did not rank among the top 20 in the heptathlon.

Joseph Krämer started for TV Ueckendorf . He worked first as a miner , then as a cutter and finally as a shooting master at the Holland colliery .
