Joseph Oyanga

Joseph Oyanga (born February 28, 1936 in Omoro ; † July 21, 2018 ) was a Ugandan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Lira .

Life

Joseph Oyanga was ordained a priest on May 15, 1963 after completing his philosophical and theological training .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Lira on July 4, 1989 . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Kampala , Emmanuel Kiwanuka Cardinal Nsubuga , on October 1st of the same year; Co- consecrators were James Odongo , Bishop of Tororo , and Erasmus Desiderius Wandera , Bishop of Soroti .

On December 2, 2003, John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
