Joseph Mark Siegel (born July 18, 1963 in Joliet , Illinois , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Evansville .

Life

Joseph Siegel was ordained a deacon on April 14, 1988 by the Prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education , William Wakefield Cardinal Baum , and received the sacrament of priestly ordination for on June 4, 1988 by the Bishop of Joliet, Illinois , Joseph Leopold Imesch the diocese of Joliet in Illinois.

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he was episcopal ceremonial and was a member of the priestly council for nine years , of which he was chairman for three years. He was appointed to the college of consultors, was responsible for the training of priests and was involved in various functions in the church's right to life movement.

On October 28, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of pupiana and auxiliary bishop in Joliet, Illinois. The Bishop of Joliet, Illinois, James Peter Sartain , donated him episcopal ordination on January 19, 2010 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Venice , Frank Joseph Dewane , and Former Bishop Joseph Leopold Imesch. his motto in In Te Domine Speravi .

Siegel was also vicar general of the Joliet diocese in Illinois. He belongs to the Knights of Columbus and the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Evansville on October 18, 2017 . The inauguration took place on December 15 of the same year.
