Joseph Willy Romélus

Joseph Willy Romélus (born January 17, 1931 in Arniquet ) is former Bishop of Jérémie in Haiti .

Life

Joseph Willy Romélus was ordained a priest for the diocese of Les Cayes on July 13, 1958 . Then he was chaplain in Anse-à-Veau , in Dame-Marie and in Jérémie and from 1965 to 1977 pastor in Latibolière .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 26, 1977 Bishop of Jérémie. The Archbishop of Port-au-Prince , François-Wolff Ligondé , donated him episcopal ordination on June 26 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Luigi Conti , Apostolic Nuncio in Haiti , and Jean-Jacques Claudius Angénor , Bishop of Les Cayes.

On August 6, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
