The Bistum Les Cayes ( lat. : Dioecesis Caiesensis ) is in Haiti preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Les Cayes .
history
The diocese of Les Cayes was on October 3, 1861 by Pope Pius IX. Founded from assignments of territory by the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince as a suffragan . On April 20, 1972 it lost part of the territory to the Diocese of Jérémie and on July 13, 2008 to the Diocese of Anse-à-Veau et Miragoâne .
