Josiane Tito

Josiane Tito , full name Josiane da Silva Tito , (born August 8, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian sprinter and middle-distance runner .

In 2003 she won bronze over 400 m at the South American Athletics Championships in Barquisimeto .

In the 4 x 400 meter relay , she was eliminated with the Brazilian team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , the Brazilian quartet qualified for the final with a South American record, but was disqualified there.

In 2007 she won the South American Championships in São Paulo over 400 m and was fifth over 800 m at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the World Championships in Osaka , she was eliminated over 800 m and in the 4-by-400-meter relay in the preliminary run as well as at the 2008 Olympic Games in the 4-by-400-meter relay.

In 2009, she was stripped of her silver medal over 800 m at the South American Championships in Lima after a doping control carried out shortly before had shown a positive result for erythropoietin (EPO). A two-year ban was imposed for this violation of the doping regulations .
