Jovan Kirovski (born March 18, 1976 in Escondido , California ) is a retired American football player of Macedonian descent.
Career
Kirovski is a striker and moved from England from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund in the 1996 season .
At Manchester United he was mainly used in the reserve eleven. He came to United from the United States as a teenager and was the first American in the squad there. Due to problems in obtaining a work permit in England , he moved to Borussia Dortmund in Germany in 1996 .
At Borussia, however, the technically skilled player did not get beyond the role of a substitute. However, he was part of the team of Borussia Dortmund, which won the 1997 Champions League in Munich against Juventus Turin . In the final of the World Cup on December 3, 1997 in Tokyo , he was even substituted for Michael Zorc in the 80th minute .
In 1998 Kirovski switched to the 2nd Bundesliga on loan to SC Fortuna Cologne . From there he came back to the United States via Sporting Lisbon , Crystal Palace and Birmingham City . There he was active in the MLS for the San José Earthquakes . He previously played for the Los Angeles Galaxy and Colorado Rapids franchises .
After the season is over, he will return to Los Angeles Galaxy. On November 21, 2011 he won the MLS championship with Los Angeles Galaxy by beating the Houston Dynamo 1-0 in the MLS Cup .
On January 1, 2012, Kirovski ended his professional career with Los Angeles Galaxy.
After retiring, he became an assistant coach under Bruce Arena in the 2012 season at LA Galaxy. Since January 2013, the technical director of the franchise has been.

Jovan Kirovski scored a total of 9 goals in 62 games for the USA between 1994 and 2004 . Despite a handsome number of internationals for the USA, he never belonged to a squad of a world championship team in the USA. However, he was part of the US soccer team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He played his first international match on October 19, 1994 against Saudi Arabia.
