Jozef Bojko

Jozef Bojko (born March 27, 1971 in Bratislava ) is a Slovakian jockey in horse racing who mainly rides in Germany and won the German Derby in 2011 .

Bojko was trained as a jockey in Slovakia. He has been active in Germany since 1993.

After several years as a jockey, Bojko became the second stable jockey in Andreas Wöhler's racing stable . Bojko was able to achieve his first victory in a group race on October 25, 2009 in Baden-Baden at the Winter Queen's Prize on Neon Light . His greatest success was winning the 2011 German Derby at Waldpark . He achieved his best placement at the German Jockey Championship in 2001 with a second place behind Andrasch Starke . During his career, he was caught weight manipulation several times. In 2008 he suffered a serious fall in Hamburg , but was able to celebrate a successful comeback in 2009. On November 23, 2013, he finally passed the magic mark of 1,000 victories on a racing day in Krefeld.
