Juan Luis Ysern de Arce

Juan Luis Ysern de Arce (born May 2, 1930 in Valencia ) is a Spanish clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of San Carlos de Ancud .

Life

Juan Luis Ysern de Arce was ordained a priest on June 29, 1953 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Granada .

Paul VI appointed him on April 12, 1972 auxiliary bishop in Antofagasta and titular bishop of Guardialfiera and he was introduced to the office on May 20, 1972 of the same year. The Bishop of Chillán , Eladio Vicuña Aránguiz , gave him episcopal ordination on May 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Francisco de Borja Valenzuela Ríos , Archbishop of Antofagasta and Apostolic Administrator of Calama, and Carlos González Cruchaga , Bishop of Talca .

He was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Calama on May 20, 1972, and resigned from this office on June 2, 1974. He was appointed Bishop of San Carlos de Ancud on May 13, 1974, and was introduced to the office on June 15 of the same year. Pope Benedict XVI accepted his age-related resignation on September 15, 2005.
