Julia Sawalha

Julia Sawalha (born September 9, 1968 in London , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Julia Sawalha was born in 1968 in London as one of three daughters of the Jordanian actor Nadim Sawalha and the British Roberta Lane . Through her father's profession, she began to take an interest in acting at a young age. From 1981 she was regularly in front of the camera for British television. With the television series Press Gang , she was able to book her first major success in Great Britain. However, she made her breakthrough as Saffy Monsoon in the British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous , in which she appeared in 40 episodes from 1992 to 2012.

In A Winter Night's Dream (1995) she played her first major film role on the side of Kenneth Branagh . However, she is better known internationally for her portrayal of precocious Lydia Bennet in the BBC television series Stolz und Vorschluss (1995), where she was seen alongside Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth . In 2000, she voiced the ginger in the cartoon Chicken Run .
