Julian Büscher (born April 22, 1993 in Soest ) is a German soccer player .

Career

youth

Julian Büscher grew up in Dülmen and later in Buldern . He played with the DJK Adler Buldern until the D-youth . In 2005 he moved to the DFB base of VfL Senden , known for its successful youth work , from where SC Preußen Münster brought him to live a year later . From 2008 he played for VfL Bochum , including a year in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga. When his former club also rose to the A-Jugend-Bundesliga in 2011, he went back to Preußen Münster. Since at the same time the first team was promoted to the 3rd division , he hoped for better chances on the way to becoming a professional.

Prussia Munster

Professional trainer Marc Fascher became aware of the playmaker and captain of the U-19s in the first half of the 2011/12 season and brought the 18-year-old into the professional squad. The debut failed, however: after his substitution on November 19, 2011 in the game at SV Sandhausen , he had to leave the field after five minutes with a torn ligament. But already in the preparation for the second half of the season he was back with the professionals and was given another opportunity on the first day of the second half of the season, for the first time even on the grid. In his second year at SC Preußen, Büscher was mainly used in its U23 team in the Westphalia League.

Sports fanatic Lotte

He then decided in January 2013 to move to the regional league team Sportfreunde Lotte , where he signed a contract until 2014. He played five games in the second half of the 2012/2013 season and qualified with Lotte for the relegation place to the 3rd division . He failed with Lotte and played another regional league game for Sportfreunde until the fall of 2013, before moving to Syracuse in the USA .

Syracuse University

At Preußen Münster he received the tip from his teammate Matthew Taylor to apply for a sports scholarship in the USA in order to study and play football there. Büscher applied successfully and began studying at Syracuse University on January 13, 2014 . There he played for their college soccer team and developed into one of the team's best assistants in the first year. After his first season he was awarded with the admission to the selection team All-ACC Second Team and the ACC All-Freshman Team. In his sophomore year he was one of the team's key players and the second best team scorer of the season. In the 2015 season, Syracuse made it to the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, the so-called College Cup, for the first time. Büscher played a major role in this.

During his time at college, he played two games for KW United FC outside of the college soccer season. The Canadian team plays in the USL Premier Development League .

He studied logistics at Syracuse University.

DC United

Following his college days, Adidas received a generation contract with Major League Soccer. With this he received both the status of a professional player and the ability to finish his studies within the next ten years at the expense of the MLS by means of online and distance courses.

On January 11, 2016, Büscher took part in the MLS SuperDraft 2016. Here he was selected by DC United and received a Generation Adidas contract. He made his debut for the team from Washington, DC on February 23, 2016 in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League against Querétaro FC . On March 1, 2016, he scored his first goal for the MLS franchise in the second leg against Querétaro. On March 6, 2016, he made his MLS debut in the game against LA Galaxy , where Büscher was substituted on in the 75th minute. On September 25, 2016, he scored his first goal in the MLS in a 4-1 win over Orlando City . On November 28, 2017, his contract with DC United was terminated.

LA Galaxy II, Cavalry FC and TuS Haltern

On March 15, 2018, Büscher signed a contract with LA Galaxy II, who play in the United Soccer League . His contract there expired in August 2018 and was not extended any further.

After trial training at Rot-Weiss Essen and various Asian clubs, Büscher moved to the Canadian Premier League for Cavalry FC in February 2019 , which he left for TuS Haltern in January 2020 . Around the same time, he announced that he had been in a relationship with the German singer Sarah Lombardi since the beginning of the year .
