Juliet Aubrey
Juliet Aubrey (born December 17, 1966 in Fleet , Hampshire ) is a British actress . She became famous for the role of paleontologist Helen Cutter , who was believed to be lost, in the television series Primeval - Return of the Primeval Monsters , in which she was seen from 2007 to 2011. In total, she appeared in more than 60 film and television productions.
Life
Juliet Aubrey is the daughter of Welsh Dr. Roland Aubrey and the Englishwoman Sylvia Aubrey. She had two siblings; her older sister Sian, who tragically died in 2007, and her older brother Jonathan. Aubrey is a cousin of David Howell Evans (The Edge), guitarist for the band U2 .
In 2001, Aubrey married production designer Steve Ritchie, whom she had met a few years earlier while filming in Newcastle upon Tyne . They have two daughters, Blythe and Lola-Blue.
After the death of her sister Sian Hurd, she took over her honorary position. Juliet Aubrey is an ambassador for a charity that cares for women suffering from violence in war and conflict areas. She is actively involved in combating global violence against women. She is also the patron of the Camberley International Arts Festival .
Career
Aubrey attended King's College London in 1984 , where she first studied classics and archeology. During a year in Italy , during which she attended a theater company, among other things, her love for acting awoke and upon her return to Great Britain she decided to apply for an acting school. She studied for three years at the Central School of Speech and Drama and then appeared as an actress.
Aubrey got her first theater role with the Oxford Stage Company , as Miranda in The Tempest (Shakespeare) . The Italian director Roberto Faenza gave her her first major film role in 1993 in Look to the Sky (Jona che visse nella balena) . In the Holocaust film produced by Elda Ferri, she starred alongside Jean Hughes Anglade. A year later she starred in the hit TV series Middlemarch , for which she won the BAFTA TV Award and the Broadcasting Press Guild for Best Actress. She then switched back to the theater at Haris Pasovics Sarajevo Theater Company and played in several plays, all of which were created through the actors' improvisation. Aubrey stayed on stage playing at the Royal National Theater in Trevor Nunn 's Summerfolk and Katie Mitchell 's Ivanov , at the Royalty Theater in Tim Crouch's An Oak , and Chris White's Three Sisters , Twelfth Night and The Collection .
After a few minor roles in films, Aubrey played in Michael Winterbottom's Welcome to Sarajevo and Stephen Poliakoff 's Food of Love in 1997 , for which she won La Baule European Film Festival's best actress . This was followed by films and television series such as Still Crazy , The Eternal Gardener , an episode in Inspector Barnaby and, from 2007 to 2011, the series Primeval - Return of the Primeval Monsters , which Aubrey made internationally known. This was followed by The Infiltrator (2016) and also the series The White Queen . Since 2017, Aubrey played the role of Lily Hill in the television series Snatch .
Awards
Juliet Aubrey won the 1995 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress on the BBC series Middlemarch .
