Yulia Igorewna Graudyn

Julija Igorewna Graudyn ( Russian Юлия Игоревна Граудынь , English transcription Yuliya Graudyn ; born November 13, 1970 in Moscow ) is a former Russian hurdler .

Career

Graudyn finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1993 in Toronto. At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 , she won the silver medal behind the Bulgarian Swetla Dimitrova in the 100-meter hurdles . She was also runner-up in the IAAF Grand Prix Final in Paris that same season .

Graudyn experienced the high point of her career at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. In the 100 meter hurdles she won the bronze medal with a time of 12.85 s, behind the American Gail Devers (12.68 s) and the Kazakh Olga Schischigina (12.80 s).

After that, Graudyn did not reach the finals in international championships. At the two following World Athletics Championships in 1997 in Athens and 1999 in Seville and at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she reached the semi-finals. At the 2000 Olympic Games , she was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Julija Graudyn is 1.74 m tall and had a competition weight of 63 kg. She started for Spartak Moscow and CSKA Moscow . She is married to the former 800-meter runner Wladimir Graudyn .
