Julija Nikolajewna Surikowa ( Russian Юлия Николаевна Сурикова ; * 1982 in the Soviet Union ) is a Russian triathlete and two-time winter triathlon world champion (2016, 2018).

Career

Julija Surikowa joined the Russian national team in 2005. In 2010 she was third at the European Winter Triathlon Championships.

Their daughter was born in March 2015 and she was on maternity leave.

At the Winter Triathlon World Championship in Zeltweg , Austria , Julija Surikowa secured her first World Championship title in February 2016, ahead of compatriot Olga Parfinenko and Austrian Romana Slavinec .
In April she was third at the European Cross Duathlon Championships. In June she also became the Russian cross triathlon champion.

In Estonia, she came third in the European Winter Triathlon Championships in January 2017 (6 km cross-country skiing, 10 km mountain bike and 8.1 km cross-country skiing).

In January 2018 the then 36-year-old became world champion in the winter triathlon for the second time after 2016.
