Julio Angkel

Julio Angkel (born April 12, 1954 on Parem , Chuuk State , Federated States of Micronesia ) is a Micronesian clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of the Carolines .

Life

Julio Angkel received on 13 December in 1983 by the Bishop of Caroline Marshall Islands, Martin Joseph Neylon SJ , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 18, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of the Caroline Islands. The Apostolic Nuncio in the Federated States of Micronesia, Archbishop Martin Krebs , donated to him on February 4, 2018 the Cathedral Immaculate Heart of Mary in Tunnuk the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of the Carolines, Amando Samo , and the Bishop of Tarawa and Nauru , Paul Eusebius Mea Kaiuea MSC .

With the resignation of Amando Samo on February 2, 2020, he succeeded him as Bishop of the Carolines.
