Paul Mea

Paul Eusebius Mea Kaiuea MSC (born December 16, 1939 on Beru ) is a Kiribati Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Tarawa and Nauru .

Life

Paul Eusebius Mea Kaiuea joined the congregation of the Sacred Heart Missionaries and was ordained a priest on January 18, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tarawa, Nauru and Funafuti on November 15, 1978. The former bishop of Tarawa, Nauru and Funafuti, Pierre-Auguste-Antoine-Marie Guichet MSC, donated him episcopal ordination on February 10, 1979 ; Co - consecrators were Angelo Acerbi , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in New Zealand , and Pio Cardinal Taofinu'u SM , Archbishop Emeritus of Samoa-Apia .

On June 29, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Paul Eusebius Mea Kaiuea's resignation due to reasons of age.
