Julius Ludwig Klee

Julius Ludwig Klee (born August 14, 1807 in Dresden ; † December 6, 1867 there ) was a German pedagogue and linguist .

Life

Klee was born in Dresden in 1807. From 1818 he attended the Dresden Kreuzschule . After graduating from high school in 1825, he studied at the University of Leipzig . He was promoted to Dr. phil. doctorate and habilitation . From 1833 to 1835 and again from 1842 to 1848 he was a private lecturer at Leipzig University. In 1834 he became vicar at the St. Thomas School in Leipzig and in 1835 a teacher at the St. Nicholas School . Finally, in 1848, he became rector of the Kreuzschule in Dresden, which shortly before his death moved into a new building on Georgplatz .

He died in Dresden in 1867 and was buried in the Inner Neustädter Friedhof . Klee was with Maria Therese, geb. Weinlig, married. Their daughter is the writer Margarete Lenk and the literary historian Gotthold Klee is their son.
