Gotthold Klee

Gotthold Ludwig Klee (born May 17, 1850 in Dresden ; † December 9, 1916 in Neugruna near Dresden) was a German literary historian .

Life

Klee was the son of Julius Ludwig Klee , rector of the Kreuzschule in Dresden. His uncle was Emil Herrmann . From 1859 to 1868 he attended the Holy Cross Gymnasium in Dresden. In 1873 he received his doctorate from the University of Leipzig in Frederick Zarncke Dr. phil. From 1874 to 1885 he was the principal of the Latin school in Deidesheim . In 1894 he became a high school professor in Bautzen . He became known as the author of writings on the history of literature and legends. He wrote a literary-historical introduction for an edition of Homer's works in Max Hesse's publishing house.
