The Juliusturmbrücke is a steel girder bridge in the Berlin district of Spandau over the Havel . It connects the districts of Spandau and Haselhorst . Like the road that leads over the bridge, it was named after the Julius tower of the Spandau Citadel , which is within sight north of the bridge structure.

history

The bridge was built between 1937 and 1939, when the wooden Berliner Tor bridge, built in 1924, was moved north to the former Berliner Chaussee . After the street leading over it was renamed “ Am Juliusturm ”, the building was given its current name.

The 104 meter long bridge leads the street "Am Juliusturm" at kilometer 0.31 over the Havel-Oder waterway south of the Spandau lock . The average clearance height for shipping is 5.45 meters and the clearance width 50.40 meters. The carriageway is divided into six lanes, whereby you can park on the outer one. There are footpaths and bike paths on both sides. The median is about five meters wide. To the west of the Havel, the path leads from the Lindenufer to the Spandau lock under the bridge.
