The Junkerlilien ( Asphodeline ) are a genus of plants in the subfamily of the Affodill family (Asphodeloideae). They were previously assigned to the lily family (Liliaceae).
description
They are mostly perennial , herbaceous plants that develop a short, partially creeping rhizome as a persistence organ.
The yellow or white flowers , like most monocots, are threefold. The fruits are spherical, leathery capsules that contain the black, tetrahedral seeds. In contrast to the very similar genus Asphodelus , the Asphodeline species have stamens of different lengths and the leaves are also distributed over the stem.
