Career

Cox began his career in 1997 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League with the Prince George Cougars . Achieved already in his second year of the then 18-year-old in 72 games 22 points scorer , prompting some NHL - Scouts on the 1.83-meter striker took notice. During the 1999 NHL Entry Draft , it was the Dallas Stars who finally secured his rights. Cox was selected 184th overall in the sixth round. Nevertheless, the attacker initially stayed in the Western Hockey League for two years.

In the summer of 2001, the Canadian moved to the American Hockey League for the Utah Grizzlies , for which he completed 74 games in his first season and scored 17 points. Cox did not get the chance to prove himself in the NHL despite an attractive performance. After he figured out only a small chance of a possible engagement with the Dallas Stars, he moved to the San Antonio Rampage , the farm team of the Phoenix Coyotes, for the 2005/06 season . There, too, the attacker played exclusively in the AHL and only moved to Europe for the first time a year later. Here Cox first went on the ice for the Swiss second division club EHC Visp and in the same season for the Norwegian first division club Storhamar Dragons .

After he performed well in Switzerland and Norway , the management of Füchse Duisburg also became aware of the offensive player who signed him before the 2007/08 season . Justin Cox received a two-year contract with the Foxes. In the first season with the Füchsen he was the fifth best player in the internal scorer list. When Duisburg had to file for bankruptcy in the summer of 2009 , he left the club and moved to IK Oskarshamn in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan .

In 2010 he returned to Germany and was signed by the Heilbronner Falken from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey .
