The Raboldshausen Justice Office was a court of ordinary jurisdiction with its seat in Raboldshausen (Neuenstein) in what is today the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in northern Hesse .

history

With an edict of June 29, 1821, an administrative reform was carried out in the Electorate of Hesse and the administration was separated from the judiciary. The previous Raboldshausen office was merged with the Homberg and Borken offices to form the Homberg district. At the same time, the Raboldshausen Justice Office was established as the court of first instance, until 1823 as the assistant office of the Neuenstein Justice Office , then until 1831 as the assistant office of the Homberg Regional Court . It was responsible for the areas of the former courts of Wallenstein , Neuenstein and part of the court at the forest .

With the annexation of Kurhessen by Prussia in 1866, the court organization was changed. The Raboldshausen justice office was abolished on September 1, 1867, and its district was added to the district of the Homberg district court, to which it still belongs today, and which held a court day in Raboldshausen until March 1, 1970.

building

The community had campaigned intensively for their court in the 1820s. In a request to the ministry on June 21, 1829, she had offered to make rooms available for the judicial office if the judicial office was retained. After the decision to keep the judicial office, the community made rooms on the upper floor of a half-timbered house of a dyer available. However, the spatial situation was criticized as inadequate, and a new judicial office building was built from 1840 to 1842. The massive three-story quarry stone building was used by the forest administration after the court was closed and later used as a residential building.
