The Office Homberg of the Landgraviate of Hesse and later the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel administered the landgraviate possessions and the landgrave courts that were in the vicinity of the city ​​of Homberg . Written documents on this can be traced back to 1338.

Geography and history

Neighboring landgrave offices, the areas of which were changed again and again, were the office Felsberg in the north, the office Melsungen and the office Spangenberg in the northeast, the office Gudensberg in the northwest, the office Rotenburg in the east, the office Obergeis and the office Niederaula in the southeast, the Ottrau office in the south, the Schwarzenborn office in the southwest, and the Borken office in the west. Judicial office
