Steindorf in the Rinnebachtal

Steindorf is a district of Homberg (Efze) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

The village of Steindorf is located about 8.2 km south-southeast of the center of the Homberg core city in the northern foothills of the Knüll Mountains . The Rinnebach flows through it . State road  3384 ( Allmuthshausen –Steindorf– Hülsa ) runs through it .

history

Steindorf was first mentioned in a document in 1304. As early as 1537 the small village was deserted . It was repopulated after 1575.

On December 31, 1971, Steindorf was incorporated into the city of Homberg, Kassel district, today Homberg (Efze) , on a voluntary basis as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
