Sondheim is a district of Homberg (Efze) in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

The village of Sondheim is located on the northern foothills of the Knüllgebirge around 4 km south-southwest of the center of the core town of Homberg. It is located at the western foot of the wooded Ronneberg ( 402.1  m above sea  level ), the Rinnebach flows through the northern locations . Landesstraße  3384 ( Lützelwig –Sondheim– Waßmuthshausen ) runs through the village . The former cannon railway ran directly northwest of Sondheim .

Sondheim was first mentioned in a document in the 12th century. At 31 December 1971 Sondheim was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse , now on a voluntary basis in the town of Homberg, Region of Kassel Homberg (Efze) , incorporated .
