course
The Rinnebach rises in the northern part of the Knüllgebirge near the border between the town of Homberg (Efze) and the town of Schwarzenborn in the south . Its source is about 3.5 km southwest of the village of Hülsa (south-southeastern part of Homberg), about 2.8 km northwest of the Schwarzenborn town center, and about 1.4 km north of the Knüllköpfchen ( 633.8 m above sea level ). At the edge of the forest, in the transition area to an agriculturally used area, it is about 545 m above sea level .
Initially, the Rinnebach, which runs exclusively in the Homberger area, flows in a north-easterly direction, flowing through the 16.8 hectare Schwärzwiesen nature reserve near Hülsa (NSG no. 82571), which was designated in 1983 . Shortly afterwards, he passes the villages of Hergetsfeld (district of Knüllwald ) and Hülsa (district of Homberg), each a little east of the brook . The Rinnebach then runs north-northwest along the state road 3384, including the Klingelbach, and gradually through Steindorf , after which it passes the Biegenmühle and takes up a stream coming from the village of Rückersfeld a little east of the Rinnebach , and then flows through Allmuthshausen .
The Rinnebach then passes the Streuflingskopf (approx. 413 m ) to the east as it flows through the village of Rodemann with its observation tower, on which the Knüll Wildlife Park, founded in 1968 and covers around 50 hectares, extends. Then it runs under the Kreisstraße 36 through Waßmuthshausen and further along the L 3384 to the northwest. It flows through the northern parts of the village of Sondheim , where it is crossed by a bridge of the former cannon railway.
About 2 km north-west below Sondheim and about 500 m after crossing under the federal highway 254 , the Rinnebach flows , after overcoming a total of about 350 m height difference, at about 195 m into the Efze tributary Ohebach coming from the southwest ; The villages of Lützelwig in the south and Caßdorf in the north lie on the Ohebach near the mouth of the Rinnebach .
