The Streuflingskopf is about 413  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the northern part of the Knüllgebirge in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district ( Germany ). The Knüll Wildlife Park with the Streuflingskopf observation tower is on top of it .

The Streuflingskopf rises in the district of Homberg about 5 km (as the crow flies ) south-southeast of the Homberg core city and immediately east of the Rodemann district . A little east-northeast is Schellbach (to Knüllwald ), south of Allmuthshausen and northwest of Waßmuthshausen (both to Homberg). The Ohebach tributary Rinnebach flows directly to the west past the mountain, which is located in the Seckenhain forest area .

Natural allocation

The Streuflingkopf belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Osthessisches Bergland (No. 35) and in the main unit Knüll and Homberger Hochland (356) to the subunit Western Knüllvorland (356.0).

Protected areas

On the Streuflingskopf are parts of the protected landscape Upper Rinnetal ( CDDA -No 378652;. Expelled 1975; 21.8507  sq km in size) and those of the bird reserve crumpled (VSG No. 5022-401;. 269.5731 square kilometers).

Knüll wildlife park with observation tower

The 50 hectare Knüll Wildlife Park , which was founded in 1968 at the suggestion of August Franke and is a popular excursion destination with around 450 animals from 40 mostly native species, is particularly located on the southern flank of the wooded Streuflingskopf .

On the top of the mountain, within the wildlife park, there is a 13 m high wooden observation tower , from whose 10.5 m high roofed platform you can see the Rinnebach valley, surrounding villages and mountains of the Knüllgebirge and even as far as the Kellerwald .
