Caßdorf is a district of Homberg (Efze) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

The place is located in northern Hesse around 3 km southwest of Homberg in the northern foothills of the Knüllgebirge . It is traversed by the Ohebach , which flows into the Efze not far to the north . State road  3384 runs through the village, federal road 254 passes on the eastern edge of the village.

Evangelical Church of Caßdorf

Archaeological finds suggest that there was a settlement as early as the 8th century. Caßdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1145. There used to be three mills in the area. Around 1490 there were 13 defensive men and seven plows in the village , and 15 carnival chickens had to be taken away annually as a fee.

On December 31, 1971, the municipality of Caßdorf was incorporated into the town of Homberg, Kassel district, today Homberg (Efze) .
