The Gudensberg Office of the Landgraviate of Hesse administered the landgraviate possessions and the landgrave courts, which were located in the vicinity of the town of Gudensberg in northern Hesse .
history
The office was formed with the castle ( Obernburg ) and town in the second half of the 13th century. Konrad von Elben seems to have already exercised official functions at the time of Landgravine Sophie . Gudensberg then took over the judicial function of maggots towards the end of the 13th century (see Mader Heide ); the Gudensberg City Court was called upon in 1272 as an appeal instance over the Maden court. The mayor of Gudensberg, verifiable since 1236, acted as representative of the bailiff in the high court ( regional court ) from the 14th century . From 1575 or 1585, the office also had the lower and embarrassing jurisdiction with the exception of the city of Gudensberg itself, whose citizenship had been able to exercise the lower jurisdiction in the city court itself since the city's appointment before 1254.
From 1807 to 1813 Gudensberg was the administrative seat of the canton of Gudensberg within the Kingdom of Westphalia .
The Gudensberg Office was merged in 1821 with the Fritzlar Office and the Jesberg Office and parts of the Homberg and Borken offices to form the Fritzlar district.
