course

The Kümmernitz rises about 400 meters south of Penzlin Süd , city of Meyenburg , west of the federal highway 103 . She passes under this and turns to the southeast. After crossing under the Neustadt – Meyenburg railway line , the Kümmernitz passes Bruges expansion in a southerly direction. To the south-south-west of the Bruges (Prignitz) train station on the border of the municipalities of Gerdshagen and Halenbeck-Rohlsdorf , the Kümmernitz again crosses under the railway line.

The Kümmernitz flows in a south-south-west direction until it again crosses under the federal highway 103 . The river Gerdshagen is now oriented west-southwest. After crossing under the Autobahn 24, the Kümmernitz feeds the 51 hectare Preddöhl reservoir , which is also surrounded by a ditch on the southeast bank.

From Preddöhl the Kümmernitz flows west to Mertensdorf, where it again orientates itself in a south-south-west direction. The river now meanders on its way to Triglitz and on to the mouth. About half a kilometer before crossing under the Pritzwalk – Putlitz railway line, the Elsbaek stream flows from the left .

About 900 meters south of the village of Helle in the municipality of Groß Pankow (Prignitz) , the Kümmernitz flows into the Dömnitz from the right, shortly before it flows into the Stepenitz from the left .
