The Kürschim ( Kazakh Күршім ; Russian Курчу́м Kurtschum ) is a right tributary of the Irtysh in Kazakhstan .

The Kürschim rises in the southern Altai on the southern flank of the Sarymsaqty mountain range. It flows in a predominantly west-southwest direction through the mountains and separates the Kürschim Ridge, which runs south, from the Naryn Ridge in the north. The places Maralicha , Burabai and Terektybulaq lie on the river. In the small town and administrative center of Kürschim , the river finally reaches the upper section of the Buchtarma reservoir .

The Kürschim has a length of 213 km. Its catchment area covers 6140 km². The mean discharge 36 km above the mouth is 58 m³ / s. In the months of May and June the Kürschim causes high water .
