Kōji Fujika

Kōji Fujika ( Japanese 藤 家 虹 二 , actually: 藤 家 光 嗣 , both Fujika Kōji ; * September 2, 1933 ; † October 24, 2011 ) was a Japanese jazz musician ( clarinet ), known as "Mr Clarinet" in the field of swing and Mainstream jazz was active.

Kohji Fujika worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1950s; The first recordings were made in 1959. In 1976 he accompanied the singer Toshio Oida ( It Was a Very Good Year ); in the same year he performed with Jimmy Takeuchi's band at the Birdland jazz club in Tokyo.
