The Kommunale Entwicklungs- und Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH (KEWOG) is a real estate company from the Upper Palatinate town of Tirschenreuth . The company was founded after the Second World War due to a severe housing shortage and today owns more than 1,500 properties in Bavaria and Hesse , as well as in Saxony , Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia .
History and projects
KEWOG was founded after the Second World War on July 21, 1949 by several municipalities in the Tirschenreuth district . It built residential buildings and commercial units mainly in the 1950s. Since the opening of the border, work has also increased in the new federal states. At the end of 2008, KEWOG owned 1,545 residential properties and 85 commercial units.
In Fulda , Hesse , the company was commissioned to build 45 condominiums and to coordinate the relocation of the Herz-Jesu Hospital, and in Unterföhring , KEWOG is to build 36 terraced houses.
A four-star hotel is planned for the Sibyllenbad thermal spring spa near Neualbenreuth .
