Kabelitz is a district of Wust-Fischbeck in the Elbe-Havel-Land ( Stendal district ) in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Kabelitz is about two kilometers east of Fischbeck and about 5 km east of the Elbe . The place is connected to Fischbeck via the 1031 district road . In the north, the federal highway 188 passes in the Stendal - Rathenow section , on which the northern route of the Romanesque Road also runs in part.
The Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve is in the immediate vicinity . There is a pond each on the eastern and western outskirts.
history
In 1144 the Burgward Kabelitz came to the Jerichow Monastery from previous ownership of the Havelberg Monastery . In 1950 it was incorporated into Fischbeck , and since October 1, 2010 it has belonged to the municipality of Wust-Fischbeck. During the floods in Central Europe in 2013 , after a dike breached near Fischbeck, the Elbe flooded.
Attractions
- The Protestant St. Martin Church in Kabelitz , located in the center of the village, was built as a Gothic brick building instead of a Romanesque church, the tower was added around 1710. It consists of an elongated rectangular nave, an equally wide west tower and a straight chancel. The two upper floors of the tower were built in a half-timbered style. Below the eaves the nave is decorated with the German ribbon , the east wall has no windows. The interior of the church has a flat roof, and there is a gallery on the west wall . The oldest piece of furniture is a two-wing carved altarpiece from the early 15th century.
