Kadubiwzi ( Ukrainian Кадубівці ; Russian Кадубовцы Kadubowzy , Romanian Cadobeşti , German (until 1918) Kadobestie ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernivtsi with about 3200 inhabitants (2001).
The village in Bukovina , mentioned in writing for the first time in 1589, is the only place in the district council of the same name . Kadubiwzi is at 257 meters height in the north of Rayon Zastavna on the highway M 19 / E 85 10 km northwest of Rajonzentrum Zastavna and about 40 km north of Oblastzentrum Czernowitz .
Sons and daughters of the village
- Wassylij , Metropolitan of the Ukrainian-Greek Orthodox Church of Canada , was born in the village on November 1, 1909 as Wassyl Wassylowytsch Fedak ( Васи́ль Васильович Феда́к ). He died in Winnipeg on January 10, 2005 .
