Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe quartiniana is a perennial , completely bare, glaucoma plant that can reach heights of up to 70 centimeters. Its simple, upright, pedicel-round shoots are robust and branched at their tips. The leaves are stalked. The stem-encompassing petiole is 2.5 to 6 inches long. The ovate, obovate, obovate-elongated or elliptical leaf blade is 10 to 18 inches long and 8 to 10 inches wide. Its tip is blunt. The leaf margin is notched irregularly.

Generative characteristics

The loose, strongly branched inflorescence is zymous panicles . The upright flowers are on slender, 10 to 25 millimeter long peduncles . Your calyx tube is 1.7 to 2.2 millimeters long. The lanceolate, pointed, membranous, slightly spreading calyx lobes are 6 to 12 millimeters long and 3 to 5 millimeters wide. The corolla is pure white or yellow to pale pink in color. The cylindrical corolla tube, inflated at its base, is 30 to 50 millimeters long. Their egg-shaped, suddenly pointed corolla lobes are 10 to 20 millimeters long and 6 to 7 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached above the center of the corolla tube. The upper stamens protrude from the flower. The anthers are about 1 millimeter long. The linear, blunt to sanded-out nectar scales are 4 to 8 millimeters long and 0.5 to 0.7 millimeters wide. The egg-shaped-lanceolate carpel has a length of 14 to 20 millimeters. The stylus is 14 to 30 millimeters long.

Systematics and distribution

Kalanchoe quartiniana is widespread in the north of Ethiopia on forest edges, in open evergreen bushland, often on disturbed areas at altitudes of 2100 to 2600 meters.
