Kalina Jędrusik (born February 5, 1930 in Gnaszyn , † August 7, 1991 in Warsaw ) was a Polish singer and actress .

life and career

Kalina Jędrusik received her acting training at the State Drama School PWST in Cracow and in 1953 her diploma. Her first engagement was in the 1953/1954 season at Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdansk . From 1955 she was a member of the ensemble at various Warsaw stages. In 1956 she first appeared on television in the play L'Apollon de Bellac by Jean Giraudoux . In the 1960s she was one of the most popular chanson singers in Poland and won the most important music festival in Opole several times . She also achieved great popularity through her television appearances in the programs of Cabaret for Older Men (Cabaret Starszych Panów). She also appeared as a singer in some films. She made her film debut in 1957 and had her last appearance before her death in The Two Lives of Veronika by Krzysztof Kieślowski .

Kalina Jędrusik was married to the writer Stanisław Dygat and is buried next to her husband in the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw.
