Callias letters

Schiller recorded his thoughts on beauty in the Kallias letters in correspondence with his friend Christian Gottfried Körner . A large treatise called Callias or On Beauty was planned , but due to lack of time it did not materialize.

In a letter of February 8, 1793, Schiller wrote to Körner: "Beauty is nothing other than freedom in appearance."
