Kalsdorf bei Ilz is a village in the area of the cadastral municipality of the same name in the municipality of Ilz in Eastern Styria (Austria).
geography
Kalsdorf is located about 2.5 km northeast of the center of Ilz in the eastern Styrian hill country . Neighboring settlements are Neudorf bei Ilz in the southwest and Riegersdorf in the east . The village is located in the Feistritz river basin , which flows east of the village to the southeast. Kalsdorf is about 1.5 km from the A2 motorway , where the Riegersdorf junction with the Fürstenfeld expressway S 7 is planned.
On January 1, 1968, the municipalities of Buchberg bei Ilz, Ilz, Kalsdorf bei Ilz, Kleegraben, Mutzenfeld, Neudorf bei Ilz and Reigersberg were merged to form the municipality of Ilz.
Culture and sights
The Kalsdorf Castle has an arcade courtyard . The oldest surviving tract was built in 1537. The origins of a fortified castle are dated back to 1160.
