coat of arms

AUT Großwilfersdorf COA.png

Both previous municipalities had a municipality coat of arms. Due to the amalgamation of municipalities, these lost their official validity on January 1st, 2015. The new award of the municipal coat of arms for the merged municipality took place with effect from September 30, 2016
The new blazon reads:

"In a shield split from blue to gold, a golden stalk of corn with a golden wreath growing in front and covered with a golden wreath of corn, rising behind a black, red-tongued wolf."

The coat of arms was awarded to the community on January 20, 1975 by the Styrian state government. It shows on the one hand the coat of arms of the Lords of Wilfersdorf, who were the greatest landlords here in the 16th century, and on the other hand the coat of arms of the Kornpeck, whose property they inherited. The Lords of Wilfersdorf had the wolf in their coat of arms, the pork pork an ear of corn and a wreath of straw .

The predatory attacks that the population had to endure from many enemies in earlier centuries is symbolized by the wolf. Ear of corn and straw wreath symbolize the fertility of the local soil.
