Hainersdorf is a village in the municipality of Großwilfersdorf in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district in Styria .

Until 2014, Hainersdorf was an independent municipality with 617 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the judicial district of Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld in Styria . Since January 1, 2015, it has been merged with the community of Großwilfersdorf as part of the Styrian community structural reform , the newly created community continues to use the name "Großwilfersdorf".

Hainersdorf is located in the south-east Styrian hill country.

The municipal area comprised the following three cadastral communities or towns of the same name (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

  • Hainersdorf (288)
  • Obgreen (125)
  • Riegersdorf (221)

history

The place was first mentioned in 1142 as Heinrichsdorf. At that time it was also called Nordenesteth / Nordenstätt. For almost four centuries the village belonged to the Augustinian Canons of Seckau , to which it had been donated by Adalram von Waldegg , a descendant of Count Palatine Aribo II .

The communities Obgrün and Riegersdorf were incorporated into Hainersdorf in 1969. In 2015 the municipality of Hainersdorf decided to merge with the municipality of Großwilfersdorf.
