Kaltenbrunn is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Grafenschlag municipality in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria . The place is about 743 meters above sea level east of Grafenschlag above the valley of the Purzelkamps . In the local area there are also the individual layers Gallmühle and Hofsäge .

Formerly the Kaltenbrunn train station

It was first mentioned in writing in 1193 as “Chaltenbrunn”, the name suggests a spring that is characterized by fresh, cold water. He belonged to the rule of Zwettl Abbey , after 1850 the place was part of the Grafenschlag community. In 1906 he got a stop on the Schwarzenau – Martinsberg – Gutenbrunn railway line .
