Kaltwasserkarspitze from the Birkkarspitze |
The Kaltwasserkarspitze is a summit of the Hinterautal-Vomper chain and is at 2733 m above sea level. A. m after Birkkarspitze , Middle and Eastern Ödkarspitze, the fourth highest elevation of the Karwendel . The Kaltwasserkarspitze is the eastern neighbor of the Birkkarspitze, the bold summit drops with a steep face to the Kleiner Ahornboden . To the south it sends a long ridge that carries the saw teeth and the Großer Heißenkopf ( 2431 m above sea level ) and separates the eastern Birkkar from the Raukarl .
The first ascent took place in 1870 by Hermann von Barth .
Ascent
The Kaltwasserkarspitze is by no means easy to reach. On all climbs, passages in the second degree have to be mastered:
- From the Hinterautal over the south ridge, crossing the Großer Heißenkopf and the Sägezähne
- From the Hinterautal through the Birkkarklamm and the Eastern Birkkar
- From the Karwendelhaus via Hochjöchl ( 2413 m above sea level )
- From the Kleiner Ahornboden via Sauissköpfl, Westliche Moserkarscharte and through the Raukarl to the south ridge
