Kalu Uche (born November 15, 1982 in Aba ) is a Nigerian football player . Uche is used as a striker or midfielder . He is also a Spanish citizen .
Career
society
Uche began his professional career in 1998 with the Nigerian first division club FC Enyimba . In the same year he moved to Iwuanyanwu Nationale , who also played in the Nigerian Premier League . He played with his brother at Heartland FC until 2001 and then moved to Spanish club Espanyol Barcelona . In the 2001/02 season, the Nigerian soccer player was signed by the Polish sports club Wisła Krakow , where he completed 61 league games and scored 14 goals in three years. In 2004 he was loaned to Girondins Bordeaux in France for a year , where he made 24 league appearances. A month after his return to Wisła Krakow, he moved to UD Almería in 2005 for an undisclosed fee .
In summer 2011 Uche moved to Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland . He signed a two-year contract. However, this already lost its validity in January 2012 after Xamax's license had been withdrawn and the club filed for bankruptcy a little later. On January 30, 2012, he moved back to Spain to his former club Espanyol Barcelona , where he signed a contract until June 2013.
In the summer of 2012, his move to Turkey for first division rookie Kasımpaşa Istanbul was announced. At his new club, he advanced as a top performer from the start. For the entire season he was in the top three places on the league's top scorer list. At the end of the season he was with 19 goals behind Burak Yılmaz , who was the top scorer with 24 goals in the Süper Lig, second goalscorer list of the Süper Lig season 2012/13 .
National team
He made his debut for the Nigerian national soccer team in 2003 in a qualifier for the 2004 African Cup of Nations against Angola .
