The Kantegir ( Russian Кантеги́р ) is a left tributary of the Yenisei in the republics of Tuva and Khakassia and in the Krasnoyarsk region in southern Siberia .

The Kantegir rises in the Kantegirgebirge (Кантегирский хребет) in West Sayan in the west of the Tuva Republic. It flows in a predominantly northeastern direction to the upper reaches of the Yenisei. With the damming of the Yenisei to the Sajano-Schuschensker reservoir , the lower reaches of the Kantegir are backed up and form a branch of the reservoir. The length of the Kantegir is 209 km. The catchment area covers 5400 km². The river is used for rafting .
